Is this therapy? No, this is not therapy. Spiritual direction is different from therapy in that therapy will focus on a struggle or a problem that needs to be healed. Therapy offers treatment intended to relieve or heal wounds or address a disorder. Spiritual direction is about locating God’s presence in the midst of your transformational journey.
-
What is Spiritual Direction?Spiritual direction is a dedicated time of focused attention on the Presence and Action of God within you and through you for the sake of others in this world. In simplicity, we come together wondering, “God, what are You up to?” In most spiritual direction sessions, you will experience three primary components: prayerful silence, listening to God, and thoughtful questions to help you look more deeply within.
-
How much does this cost?We work on a sliding scale and believe this ministry should be available to everyone. Our scale ranges from $65 to $150. If that is not within your budget, arrangements can be made.

The wisdom, discernment and perspectives they bring to teams are invaluable"Chris and Craig have served in such diverse settings that the wisdom, discernment and perspectives they bring to teams are invaluable. We had them come and meet with and coach our group of foreigners who were living cross-cultural, and they were game changers. I felt so seen, loved, known and listened to. They met with all the families and helped guide the ship in very rocky seasons. Ultimately, their wisdom and discernment catalyzed a new season for our whole team and ministry, which I am deeply thankful for.” - Drew and Mary Caldwell, Missionaries | Beirut Lebanon

Spiritual direction & life coaching has deeply changed my life!“As a church leader & follower of Jesus walking with Craig in spiritual direction & life coaching has deeply changed my life and enabled me to navigate immense challenges internally & vocationally. I anticipate & treasure our monthly times holding space in Gods presence & the priceless wisdom that flows from Craig helping to orient all that I am & do in Christ. I am a more whole, honest & joyful human because of his ministry & witness. Craig & the team came to serve our church family. The weekend training & resources helped permission a deeper culture of emotional health, personal vulnerability and ongoing healing. It was a time rich with the presence of God, accessible wisdom & practical tools for the life long journey into wholeness.” - Adam Cox, Lead Pastor, Kansas City

Chris and Craig show up with their whole hearts."Chris and Craig show up with their whole hearts. I love how emotionally & spiritually present they are. They do not bring agendas or try to control, but they listen, ask questions, encourage & call out the things they see prophetically. They have visited our family multiple times in our context, & I am amazed at how both grounding & liberated we feel by their time. They are true elders. They come ready to bring all the experience they have acquired to the table but are also profoundly open to the specifics of the context. Chris has wept with me, laughed with me, & spoken life-changing words over me, & I would not be where I am today as a leader without her mentoring.” - Mary Caldwell, Lebanon

As a female leader working in a sometimes high trauma environment“Chris has been my spiritual coach/mentor for a couple of years now & having the space to process life transitions, victories & tragedies has been invaluable. Her capacity to hold space for me to process while offering direction and guidance has been powerful in cultivating my own voice & sense of agency & discernment. As a female leader working in a sometimes high-trauma environment, there is such value in being mentored by someone who has already walked a path in leadership & faith. She helps you step back & see the moment you are in with eyes viewing the whole of your life & purpose. Studies on resilience show that those who have people walking alongside them through life are far more resilient in the face of adversity, & I can say that having Chris as my mentor walking alongside me, being a witness to my human experience, & guide in my spiritual formation has enabled me to overcome significant adversity.” - Sarah Portal, South Africa

Had we not worked with them, we would have probably struggled"Chris and Craig Westhoff have been close to the Loretto community for over ten years. 2023 we had the privilege to have them coach one of our top leadership teams in a complex situation. What struck me was their ability to understand the human dynamics in the room as well as the clarity and simplicity as they gave their advice on how to move forward. It’s a guess, of course, but had we not worked with them, we would have probably struggled in that specific area for another one or two years. I highly recommend Chris and Craig in the area of leadership coaching.” - Maximilian Oettegen, Catholic Prayer Network Leader | Vienna Austria

They come prepared and emotionally ready for the complexities of church leadership“We’ve built a relationship with Chris and Craig over several years and have intentionally asked them to help form and equip our church family. Our experience is that Chris and Craig are a mighty pair. Craig’s infectious healing pastoral heart, Chris’ prophetic insight as an equipping culture-changer are just the beginning. They come prepared and emotionally ready for the complexities of church leadership, but never at the expense of Spirit-led relational engagement. They ask more questions than they give answers. They are capable of writing curriculums and delivering dynamic presentations, but more importantly, always show up with a true listening ear, sincere love for us and our people, compelling vulnerability, and the power of God.” - Tim and Laurie Thornton, Kindred Collective | Colorado Springs
